FC Utrecht beat ADO Den Haag 0-2 on Sunday. Utrecht dominated the first half and decided the match after the break.
Everything the ADO Den Haag players had was given in the second half. The yellow and green were 0-1 down and were hunting for the equaliser. David Jensen, who had his debut in the starting eleven for FC Utrecht in the competition, did not give anything away. The Dane cleared every shot, with a little help from the aluminium two times.
Haller strikes
When FC Utrecht scored the 0-2 the three points were in the pocket. ADO Den Haag, playing with ten after Tommie Beugelsdijk received two yellow cards, did not have anything to say at that moment. Richairo Zivkovic gave the assist, Sébastien Haller the final touch: 0-2. With altogether ten minutes left on the clock it was as good as safe to say this game was for FC Utrecht, who did not get into trouble anymore.
Barazite finds the net
In the first half Zeljko Petrovic’ team did not have much to say against trainer/coach Erik Ten Hag’s team. FC Utrecht dominated and it was a logical consequence that they also took the lead after half an hour of play on the artificial grass. After a fine action and ditto cross by Yassin Ayoub, Nacer Barazite beautifully scored the 0-1.
Two times 0-2
Haller was the one who scored the 0-2. He actually did so twice. The first time he scored the goal was disallowed. After a cross by Barazite the Frenchman scored in an athletic as impressive way, but according to the referee he did this in offside position. A setback that was handled well by the Utrecht players, because ten minutes later Ten Hag’s team managed to decide the match.
